AFTERSHOCK!
Aftershock is a weekly youth club held on Friday evenings at Cowley Road church from 7.30pm till 9.30pm for people in school years 7 to 11.
Different events will be happening each week;
Shock In: This is a chance to show off your dance moves for disco time.
Shock Theatre: Theatre is a more mellow, quiet evening where a film is played on the big screen.
Shock Session: Session is a chance to show of your musical talent, whether it be playing the guitar, drums, bass etc or singing a touch of karaoke.
Shock Out: Out is usually the night in the month where youth club is based outside of the church, although there are some exceptions. Activities include ice-skating, swimming and bowling.
As well as the above happening there will also be pool, table tennis and tuck shop happening in the downstairs room.
The order of these nights will vary although we will do our best to always fit at least 3 of them in each month.
Aftershock is run in a church and staffed by church members, apart from this there is no specific Christian teaching happening on these nights. Everyone is welcome from any background and whether you have an interest in the church or not. However, there will be opportunities throughout the year to go to different christian events such as other youth events / christian bands etc, I will keep you updated with what's on and where and you will be welcome to join me on these trips.
Aftershock is £1 per week although your first week is free.
Please note - due to the Cowley Road being a busy area, and even more so on a Friday evening, and due to the age range of the people attending Aftershock, soon after the youth club has started the building doors will be locked (approx 7.40pm) and will not open again untill 9.30pm. You will not be able to leave and go outside the building once you have been signed in due to obvious safety reasons. You will be able to leave at 9.30pm once a designated adult has arrived to pick you up.
