Interactive All Age Services

Usually, on the fourth Sunday of the month (but not always), we have a more interactive All Age service. These use a range of styles, including drama-led, prayer stations, café church format, favourite hymns, amongst others.

Prayer station services usually begin and end in the same way, with an opening prayer and song at the start, and series of prayers (including the Lord's Prayer) and song at the end. In the middle, there's usually about half an hour of time to move around the church and engage with prayerful activities of a more reflective and creative nature.

Cafe church services start with everyone sat around tables with refreshments available. There is then a series of mini talks and opportunities for discussion along with hymns and prayers of a more creative nature.

Favourite hymn services tend to happen twice a year - towards Christmas and sometime in the summer. These usually include about 10 of our favourite hymns, with short prayers, readings, and reflections, and are often led by a worship band.

Our next interactive All Age service is on Sunday 24th March, when we'll starting with a sung procession around the church for Palm Sunday. We'll then have a short act of worship, including hearing the Palm Sunday story from the donkey's perspective!

We're also hoping to have a special service celebrating Dietrich Bonhoeffer's martyrdom on Sunday 28th April, a craft-based service reflecting on the idea of the Trinity on Sunday 26th May, and an outdoor service on Sunday 7th July for the Cowley Road Carnival (all of these are to be confirmed).
