Interfaith lunch for the King's Coronation

On 7 May, we were invited to an interfaith lunch, at the Asian Cultural Centre, to celebrate the King's Coronation. There was lots of dance, song, poetry (one of which was led by our community chaplain Libby), and sharing food from around the world. It was a great opportunity to gather with our Ba'hai, Buddhist, Christian (Anglican mainly), Jewish, and Muslim neighbours.

(We were also joined by many dignitaries, including the High Sheriff of Oxfordshire, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, the Lord Mayor of Oxford, the Lord Mayor of Oxford Designate, the Chair of Oxfordshire County Council, the Cabinet Member for Inclusive Communities and Culture, and our very own Superintendent Designate).

One of the songs performed was specially written for the lunch. A beautiful lilting melody focusing on hope and togetherness, this was a theme picked up by many throughout the afternoon.
